Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security system used as an additional level of account protection from malicious actions.

In this guide, we will demonstrate how to set up 2FA on your Aumify account in just a few minutes.

Step 1. Open the main page of Aumify and click on your profile icon in the top right corner:

Step 2. From the dropdown list, select the “Security” section:

Step 3. Now click the “Enable 2FA” button:

Step 4. Click the arrow to see the list of two-factor authentication setup methods:

Step 5. Choose “Google Authenticator”:

Step 6. Now you need to download the Google Authenticator app from the Apple Store or Google Play and click “Continue”:

Step 7. You can see a QR code and a "Secret Key", consisting of letters and numbers.

💡 Make sure to save the "Secret Key" on multiple devices, or even better, in written form, so that in case you lose one device, you can always restore access to the authenticator!

Step 8. Open the Google Authenticator app on your smartphone and tap on the "+" icon in the bottom left corner:

Step 9. Choose “Scan a QR code”, allow the app to use the camera, and point it at the QR code in the “Aumify” app:

Done! On your screen, you can see a code that changes every 60 seconds:

Step 10. Now check the box next to “I confirm that I have backed up my secret key” and click “Continue”:

Step 11. On the next screen, request a confirmation code to your email, input the current code from the Google Authenticator app, and click ”Submit”.

💡 The code from the authenticator is updated every 60 seconds. If you didn't manage to enter the code from the email and click "Submit" during this time, just enter a new one.

Step 12. You can close this screen by clicking "Close":

If you did everything correctly, the 2FA status will change to "Enabled" within 5 seconds:
